The General Manager National Theatre, Sunday Baba has called on Nigerians to always participate in any show where their culture and traditions are been displayed saying “Oil has failed the nation.”

He made this known on Wednesday during the ongoing National Festival of Arts and Culture, NAFEST, taking place in Benin, Edo state capital.

He thanked the people of Edo state for welcoming Nigerians and foreigners into their land during the period of the festival.

Sunday said: “Nigeria has a lot to offer to the word until i came into Benin here and saw the things we have i did not know Nigeria is this blessed. From what have seen since i came into Benin city i know the tourism and culture department of the country can take us far.

I commend all of us for coming and I want to say please anywhere any show about Nigeria’s culture is been held please participate because oil has failed us but culture and tourism will take us places.”

He applauded the National Council of Arts and Culture, led by Otunba Olusegun Runsewe for doing all within their capacity to ensure that the cultural heritage of the country stays alive.
